Hi, I'm Val Fontanals - a Harvard-educated, Licensed School Psychologist, award-winning learning expert.

In the last 20 years of my clinical experience, I have been helping children with learning challenges to become their best version of themselves. How?

As a mom and learning expert, I know that children who struggle learning have less opportunities to do well academically and that impacts negatively in their self-esteem.

That is why the first step is to identify the cause/s of the child's learning challenges through a full psycho-educational assessment. That includes cognitive, language, attention, academic, or socio-emotional difficulties that could impact the learning process.

Understanding the root of the problem helps create an individualized plan for your child's academic success, that may include specific school accomodations (maybe a 504 PLan or IEP is needed), educational therapy, referral to neurologist, or other interventions.

I can assure you that after the assessment, you will have a full picture of your child's areas of strengths and weaknesses, and get parenting strategies to know how to best support your child at home.

With it, you can eliminate the stress of not knowing what is going on with your child.
